In the event of an accident please contact the lodge manager, your butler or ranger or any member of staff.
Activities
A wide variety of activities are available including safaris, bird watching, bush walks, water safaris, bush camping, photographic safaris, iron age site, bushman paintings, yoga, spa, visit to the Lapalala Wilderness School. The following specialist services are also available on request: ecologist, photographer, video and photo editing studio, astronomy and a reference library. Should you have any special interest, please let your ranger know.
Adaptors
International plug adaptors are available in all the villas. Please let us know if you need additional adaptors.
Air Conditioning
All Villas are fitted with air conditioners/heaters for your comfort. They are operated by the tablet in your villa.
Animals
The Lapalala Wilderness is home to a wide variety of birds, mammals reptiles and amphibians. Many happy hours can be spent observing these animals in the natural habitat. It is however important to remember that all animals are potentially dangerous, unpredictable and may attack if approached. The following should be observed within our wilderness area:
- Adhere to the instructions of your ranger or security guard at all times.
- Do not stand up in or disembark from your safari vehicle, unless instructed by your ranger to do so.
- Keep to the designated walkways and do not wander off alone.
- Do not walk unaccompanied after sunset, press the call button on your tablet and the appropriate trained person will come and collect you.
- Do not feed or approach any animal.
Bar Service
A fully licensed bar service is available in the main lounge and well stocked mini bar is available in your villa. If you would like something stocked in your mini bar please let your butler know and we will stock it for you. All beverages are included except those on the premium list.
Birds
Lapalala Wilderness is home to 235 different bird species. A few of the resident birds found in and around the camp area include Malachite Kingfisher, African Paradise Flycatcher, Pearl Spotted Owl, African Fish Eagle. We have a birding list available for your interest. Please advise your ranger if you have an interest in birding.
Blankets & Pillows
An extra blanket is provided in the wardrobe should you need it. Your bed has 2 pillows one is anti allergy microfibre and the other is feather and duck down. We also have chamber pillows and fibre puff pillows available should you prefer them.
Board Games
For your entertainment, a variety of board games are available at the main lounge.
Cameras
Should you need to hire a camera or a lens, please let your ranger or butler know and they will be happy to organise it for you.
Car/Vehicle
No private vehicles are permitted on the Reserve. Your vehicle will be parked at the main reserve gate where it will be secure. Whilst the utmost care is taken to ensure the safety of your vehicle, we cannot be held liable for any damage arising from circumstances beyond our control.
Cellular Phone Reception
Cellular phone reception is available in and around the lodge. However, the signal in the Reserve is poor.

You are welcome to arrive prior to standard check-in time and join us for lunch but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your room will be available.
Cigars
The smoking areas are on the decks of the main lodge and villas. We respectfully ask you to adhere to this and be considerate to other guests. A selection of fine cigars are available in the humidor in the wine cellar - please ask your butler for assistance.
Climate
The Waterberg falls within the summer rainfall region with a mid-summer (January) seasonality. The overall mean annual rainfall for Lapalala is estimated at 500 mm but ranges from 400 mm in the low-lying area in the north to 600 mm on the higher-lying south-western border. Lapalala also experiences between 5.1 and 7.5 lightning strikes per year per 100 hectares.
Coffee / Tea
Coffee and tea are available in your villa as well as the main lounge. There are instructions on how to use your Nespresso machine next to it. Please ask your butler should you require any assistance.
Dietary Requirements
Please advise us should you have any special dietary requirements; our chef will be happy to assist.
Doctors and Dentists
Should you require the services of a Doctor or Dentist during your stay, please contact the Lodge Manager who will make all the necessary arrangement on your behalf.
Drinking Water
All the tap water at Noka Camp is filtered to the highest standards. Complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water will be placed in your rooms and provided whilst out on safaris. Water will also be available in all mini bars and will be served at all meals.
Electricity
Lepogo Lodges operate on solar power, we believe we have the first solar walkway!
Emergencies - Fire or Medical
In the case of an emergency please contact your Lodge Manager.
Fire
In the event of a fire, please follow the emergency evacuation route which is located inside the cupboard in your villa.
First Aid
Emergency First Aid Kits are located in the main lodge area. There are staff members on site who are qualified first-aiders and are able to assist you with the basic first aid. In the event of an accident, please inform the lodge manager immediately.
Flight Confirmations
If you require assistance with your advance flight or travel confirmations, please direct any enquiries to the management team who will be more than happy to assist you.
Gratuities
Tipping as it is better known, is by no means compulsory. If you feel that a staff member has exceeded your expectations and has gone the extra mile to make your stay even more enjoyable, you are welcome to personally give him or her a tip.
Generally, it is common practice to tip your ranger and butler separately, with a general tip for the rest of the staff which is divided equally between them. A rough guide is R200 per day for your ranger, R100 per day for your butler and R200 per day for all staff. If you require assistance or are unsure, the Lodge Manager will gladly assist you.
Guided Bush Wallks
Our guides will lead the more adventurous guests through the landscape on foot. The walks are designed to be informative and interactive yet with safety of paramount importance. Walks can be tailored to be a gentle educational stroll or a more energetic hike taking in the staggering plains and gorges.
Insect Repellent
Lapalala Wilderness is Malaria free, however, insect repellent is provided to keep troublesome insects at bay.
Laundry
A laundry service is offered at the lodge free of charge. We aim to provide a same day service where laundry taken in the morning will be ready in the afternoon, however, we cannot always guarantee on the sunshine needed and occasionally it may take longer. Laundry can be placed in the laundry bags provided together with the completed checklist, please write any special instructions. Unfortunately we cannot offer a dry cleaning service or take responsibility should the baboons raid the washing line!
Linen and Towels
As our standard, we change your linen daily. However, because of the water crisis in Africa, some guests ask us not to do this and choose to have their linen and towels changed every 2 or 3 days - please let us know if you would like us to do the same for you.
Maintenance
Please report any maintenance issues to the lodge manager or your butler and it will be rectified immediately.
Noise
One of the main attractions of our area is the peace and tranquility that may be enjoyed by all. Please respect the privacy and peace of other guests.
Noka Boutique
Be it as a reminder of your memorable stay with us or to simply indulge in some retail therapy, we encourage you to visit our curio boutique situated in the main lodge.
Rain
In the event of rain, an umbrella has been placed in the wardrobe in your Villa. You will be issued with a waterproof poncho should you be caught in a thunder shower whilst you are out on a game drive.
Ranger
On arrival you will be met by your ranger who will accompany you on all game drives and other activities. Our rangers are well trained, qualified, knowledgeable and are keen to assist you in making your stay with us more interesting and enjoyable.
Safety Deposit Box
Please make use of the safe provided in your suite for the safe keeping of your valuables. Instructions for the use of the safe are located inside it. If you require any assistance with the safe operations, please contact the lodge manager.
Smoking
Guests may smoke on the decks outside the main area and your villa. Please use the ashtrays provided and kindly refrain from smoking inside the villas or main areas.
Spa & Wellness
We are delighted to be able to offer our guests in room spa treatments. Please see the treatments on our Spa & Wellness page.
Swimming Pools
For your relaxation and enjoyment, your suite has its own private pool. The use of the pool is entirely at your own risk.
Ticks
When going on bush walks or alighting from the vehicle you may come into contact with grass stalks which carry ticks. Care must be taken to check your legs and trousers for ticks.
Transfers
Airport transfers can be arranged on request, please inform the Lodge manager timeously who will make the necessary arrangements.
Wake-up Calls
Your ranger or butler will discuss your preferred wake up time for the morning safari. Please let your Butler know if you would like to have a wake-up call at any other time during the day.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available 24 hours in the Villas and in the main lodge area. Your butler will assist you with your unique individual password.
